busted
I’ve been away again. In Vancouver, in fact, where I not only picked up a new frame (20” Whitton II in powder blue) that left my bike weighing 21.3 lbs, but also where I managed to crash as hard as I ever have previously. I might as well have been hit by a car. 50km/h into a concrete wall. Showing off at Selynn, I took the Darren Wong speed line and wrecked myself when I got going so fast that I accidentally gapped over a section of flatbottom and plowed into the transition on the other side. The X rays show that I haven’t broken anything, but I’m pretty sore (ribs, hip joint). Pretty purple bruises too.
Other than that, I had a good BMX time in Vancouver. Got to ride with Jason and Dave, Terry and Chris, and many others. Hit Horseshoe Bay, Selynn (BOOM), Richmond, Coquitlam, Poco, Bear Creek, and China Creek. Good enough.
I’m not terribly interested in riding right now, and am mad at myself for putting my body in jeopardy again. It might be time for Tuff Wheels.
Sucks too, as my bike is soooooo rad right now. I also got the new MacNeil Cell stem in brown with tabs (and put in ti bolts), a brown seatclamp, and a ti bolt for my MacNeil / pivotal setup. I still haven’t put it all together since I got back, as I think that might be a bad idea for a while.

Salut Wade,
The final of the series was pretty sick. We had 35 riders. The expert class
was just too tight and hard to judge. 15 riders qualified between 7 to 9
points on 10. Robby Compartino is getting better and better, he did the
final and finish in 5th place without taking his best trick run. Max
Compartino completely dominated that comp with 46/50, followed by Simon
Trepanier at 35,25/50 and Ted @ 35/50
